Memories
Frank Pye
My Grandfather Francis Pye lived at Swallownest in Beighton Lane.
My paternal Grandmother died during the childbirth of my Uncle Jesse.
My father Frank Pye and Jesse were brought up by Aunt Daisy Mason who lived in Well Lane just past the railway line on the right hand side.
Grandfather was apparently very good at football. This photo shows Treeton Football Club at the end of the 1922-23 season , winners of the Hatchard League Champions trophy.Left to right:

Frank, my father was a good cricketer and played for many years with Treeton and finally Aston Hall.
His working life was as a store keeper at Treeton pit. His father Francis Pye also worked at the pit.
