Extract from Gazetteer and General Directory of Sheffield, dated 1852

Its parish comprises the townships and manors of Treeton, Brampton and Ulley, and contains 645 inhabitants and 3239 acres of fertile land.

Treeton township has 329 souls and about 1280 acres. The Duke of Norfolk owns most of the soil and is lord of the manor, and patron of St. Helen's Church which is a rectory worth about &700 per annum.

Treeton is a village township and manor mostly the property of Sir George Sitwell
