Benjamin Mercer and Charlotte had 4 children:
- Annie born 1877 in Sheffield and died 8th August 1937 at 71 Low Road, Malin Bridge, Sheffield
- James William born 1880 in Sheffield and died 24th November 1881 at 60 Jessop Street, Sheffield.
- Polly born 1883 in Sheffield and died 30th July 1883 at 60 Jessop Street, Sheffield
- Charlotte born 12th January 1886 at 60 Jessop Street, Sheffield and died 16th February 1953 at 65 The Circle, Manor Estate, Sheffield.
Benjamin died on 15th November 1888 at 24 Furnival Lane, Sheffield. His occupation was a Drayman. After Benjamin's death, Charlotte Mercer re-married to William Smith on 1st March 1891. She died on 16th April 1902 in a Sheffield workhouse aged 45.
Emily and James had 2 sons, they were Willie (born about 1883) and Harry (born about 1890). Harry Ainsworth, died 17th May 1959 aged 68 at 26 Newton Street, Rotherham. Emily Ainsworth re-married in about 1899 to Philip Michael as her husband James Ainsworth died in 1892.
