John Hartley was born 19 Oct 1843 at West Melton,Rotherham and christened 19 Nov 1843 at Wath-Upon-Dearne, Rotherham. He married Sarah Maxfield on 17 Mar 1868 at Doncaster and died 22 Jun 1913 at Doncaster. He was the son of Job HARTLEY (1820-1849) and Lucy AMBLER (b.1819). Lucy was the daughter of George(b.1793) and Ann (Nee AUTY/AWTY) of Leeds.
