Rev. Hammond TURNER, Rector of Todwick and Treeton lived at Treeton Hall from 1743.

Rev. Creed Turner died at Treeton, in 1805, aged 55.

He was placed at the Charter-house school in August, 1761, by the nomination of his relation and godfather Archbishop Seeker, on whose recommendation he was sent to Oxford, and was elected a student of Christ Church in 1766. He took the M.A.degree in 1772; and was presented, by Dr. Thomas, Bishop of Winchester, 1775, to the rectory of Bishopstoke, Hants. His knowledge, not only in Theology, and in Classic Literature, but also in many branches of Natural Philosophy, was very considerable. He died unmarried.

Rev. J. Storer, as legal representative of the late Rev. Creed Turner, paid to the Nottingham General Hospital the sum of £705 19s. 0d. being such part of the legacy left by the said Rev. Creed Turner, as there were legal assets to meet; and Miss Cordelia Gill, of Doncaster, presented the sum of £358 6s. 8d. to the same institution, being her share of that portion of the Rev. Creed Turner's property, which, became hers as one of his next of kin.
