Frank Pye

Frank Pye My Grandfather Francis Pye lived at Swallownest in Beighton Lane.
My paternal Grandmother died during the childbirth of my Uncle Jesse.
My father Frank Pye and Jesse were brought up by Aunt Daisy Mason who lived in Well Lane just past the railway line on the right hand side.

Frank Pye Grandfather was apparently very good at football. This photo shows Treeton Football Club at the end of the 1922-23 season , winners of the Hatchard League Champions trophy.Left to right:

He married again and had two daughters one is still alive. Both of them were school teachers.

As a child I lived in Aughton and remember Uncle Jesse showing me his cup winners medal and allowing me to hold it!

Frank, my father was a good cricketer and played for many years with Treeton and finally Aston Hall.

His working life was as a store keeper at Treeton pit. His father Francis Pye also worked at the pit.

Frank married Erica Miller just before the war . Her father was the Headteacher of Treeton Primary School.

Frank and his family lived at 2 Big Six, Wood lane These houses were built for the ' important ' workers at the pit

Frank died in 1967 and is buried in Treeton.
