Names of Persons: William Neuton, Thomas Fallenge, Reginald Brambeyn, Joan Semster. Witnesses: John Chaloner then bailiff, John Stub, Geoffrey Butury. Place-Names: Sheffeld, Castelgrene.

The Manors of Sheffield, Handsworth, Bradfield, Southey, Ecclesfield, Treeton , Whiston and Bolsterstone and the Advowson of Handsworth (Yorks.); in trust to secure a payment of 200 marks per annum to the King, according to an indenture between Thomas, Cardinal of York, Sir Henry Wyat (Treasurer of the King's Chamber) and Shrewsbury, 7th June, 1527; to be void on fulfilment of conditions. Handsworth to be held to the use of the Earl and Countess.

Gives details of arrangements for hedging and ditching various land at Canklow, Treeton, Gilthwait, etc. (Yorks.) for the preservation of the 'springs' i.e. woods. Hopes the Earl will see from the accounts, the 'husbandrie' Baylie Langley makes of the tolls of fairs and markets at Rotherham. The Liberty is infringed by the Sheriff's Bailiff, a very unfit man having been appointed.

At the top left-hand corner of the front page the date '1668' is given.
A note on the last page however suggests the survey was based on particulars compiled in 1670. There are references to a map.
