Neolithic

A Neolithic polished stone axe was found in April 1954 on the surface of Gregory Hill Field, Spa House, by Mr. Snook of Rudstone. The axe is now in Rotherham Museum. Mr Snook indicated the exact find-spot at SK 4391188221 to an Ordnance Survey field investigator.

Roman

Mortarium rim fragment, Round bronze horse harness found. 1957. Between Wood Lane Treeton and Pleasley Road.

Mesolithic

Mesolithic flint cores found in 1957 in Treeton Wood are now in Rotherham Museum. Adjacent to Wood Lane.

Neolithic

A Neolithic polished flint axe was found at Treeton by P Abrahams of Swindon, Wiltshire. It was a casual surface find in a ploughed field at approximately SK 436888 in 1964, and was retained by Abrahams. Long Lane, close to Bole Hill.

Mesolithic

Two Mesolithic cores now in Rotherham Museum. Long Lane, close to Bole Hill.
