Family suggests George Cawthorne married Elizabeth (nee WILSON) born, 1829 at Misson (near Bawtry), Yorkshire, although the 1871 Census has her as born 1831 at Tuxford, Nottinghamshire about 20 miles away.
George CAWTHORNE, Blacksmith, was the son of Stephen CAWTHORNE, Blacksmith, married Elizabeth WILSON in March 1847 at Ecclesfield.

Notes re Cawthorne. - It is thought that George's parents Stephen CAWTHORNE and possibly a Maria, were in the 1820 s in Wath-on-Dearne and South Kirby. They had a son James c.26 JAN 1817 Darfield
